The 4th of July is one of the best cookout days of the year, and not just for humans. I don't have firm stats on this, but I'm pretty sure more hot dogs and hamburgers are dropped by kids and stolen by dogs than any other day of the year, so of course our furry friends love the holiday. Unfortunately, after a day of pilfered lawn food, the fireworks come.
The majority of dogs are terrified of fireworks, and that's why more pets run away on the 4th of July than any other day of the year. Be sure to keep your pets safe and secure this weekend so your pet doesn't become one of the 7.6 million pets that become lost each year. Check out this great lost dog infographic to learn more.
