45 WAYS TO READY YOUR HOME FOR FALL & WINTER

If you think spring cleaning is the only time of year you should give your home a little TLC, it’s time to rethink some of your habits once again.

We put so much of our lives into the body of our homes.  From walking in the door after work to hugs and smiles, the many tears cried over spilled milk,  and dance offs while cooking in the kitchen.  Don't you think it’s important to keep up the sanctuary of this space throughout the year? 

We thought you would say yes, and we feel the same! 

After all, our homes hold many of our most precious memories.  Which is why we’ve compiled a list of 45 items you can use as a checklist for this coming season. This checklist will start you off in the right direction, prepping your home for fall and winter.

Let's get organized for the holidays and the harsh character of the winter together. But, before you read any further go grab a pen & paper,

Home Exterior & Interior
  1. Cleaning your eavestroughs & downspouts (Aka, Rain Gutters)
  2. Caulk around windows, doors, and other openings
  3. Check or replace your weather stripping
  4. Inspect your roof and chimney
  5. Remove your portable AC units and put them to rest for the season 
  6. Shut off and drain outside faucets
  7. Clean and inspect your furnace
  8. Clean and inspect your dryer vent
  9. Change the batteries in your smoke detectors
  10. Check that your carbon monoxide detectors are working properly
  11. Inspect fire extinguishers
  12. Inspect and test sump pumps
  13. Empty and store rain barrels
  14. Winterize outdoor lawn equipment
  15. Stock up on firewood
  16. Inspect siding
  17. Turn off faucets and store hoses
