July is a busy month in Clayton, NC, kicking off with Clayton's 39th Annual Independence Day Celebrations. Below are some other events that you might want to check out!

39th Annual July 4th Celebration - Always held on July 4th, this is by far the biggest Town-sponsored event all year with great views of the fireworks from all over Downtown Clayton.  For the best seat in the house, join us at Municipal Park, West Stalling Street, just a few blocks off Main Street at 4:00 PM for FREE ice cream, FREE watermelon, FREE games for the kids, FREE spray down by the Clayton Fire Department, and a FREE concert by great local bands. This is an awesome 33-year-old tradition that you can't miss.  The biggest fireworks show in the area starts at dark! This year July 4th falls on a Tuesday - so see you for our best show yet - Thursday, July 4, 2019!

Clayton Farm and Community Market - Open every Saturday, April through October from 9:00 AM until 1:00 PM selling everything from local farmers with not only their fresh veggies and fruit but also local honey, locally made soaps and much more.  It’s located at Horne Square, 348 E. Main Street, corner of Main and South Lombard Streets.  There are two Holiday Markets, one in November and the other in December as well as Winter Markets from November through March.

Town Square Concert Series – Join us for the FREE Town Square Concert Series every month from May through September, which draws more than 1,000 people to the corner of Main and South Fayetteville streets (110 W. Main St.) Set your calendars for Aug. 16, Sept. 6 and Oct. 2, 2018. Click here for more info, including the list of performers. The CDDA recently expanded the concert venue to make way for more vendors, more community groups, more food and beverages and a better all-around concert experience. Bring a blanket or chair - the fun starts at 5:30 and music starts at 6:30!

Movie Nights at Town Square – Bring your own blankets and enjoy a FREE movie under the stars at Clayton Town Square, located at 110 West Main Street in the heart of Downtown Clayton. In 2019, we'll feature Wizard of Oz on July 12th , Bumblebee on AUgust 23rd, Grease on September 20th, and Coco on October 18th! No movie tickets needed here!  The fun starts at 6 p.m. with face painting and a bounce house, vendors, food trucks and more! ​
